Happiness Comes in Threes

A baby’s happiness is dependent upon three vital requirements:

1) A clean diaper

2) A full stomach

3) Sleep

Without fulfilling these three requirements, a baby will not be happy.  More importantly, you cannot successfully accomplish meeting one of the requirements unless the other two are currently satisfied.  For example, today at lunch, Emily was exhausted.  Because she was tired, she refused to eat.  This resulted in a major tantrum and a very messy lunch.  Now, Emily has gone to bed on an empty stomach.  When she wakes up, she will be hungry and her diaper will most likely need changing.  And so, the vicious cycle will continue until I can catch up and satisfy all three requirements once again.  It may not be rocket science, but a mom’s job can prove challenging, don’t you think?

Lunch without sleep? Good luck, Mom!
